“Millie was found on a pigeon farm in Romania. She had wandered there looking for food, but the farmer sent his dogs after her—that’s why part of her ear is missing. Then he locked her in a cage. We don’t know how long she was there, but his plan was to eventually feed her to the dogs. She was pregnant at the time, but she was so malnourished that her kittens didn’t survive. She gave birth to them while she was still in that cage. A woman from the village heard about her situation and convinced the farmer to let her go. She paid him to save her. That’s how she ended up with Strays Meet Holland.
We call her 'Queen Millie' because she’s so particular. She only plays with certain toys and she refuses to eat cheap food. Watching her come out of her shell has been really amazing. She’s my first cat, and I can honestly say she’s turned me into a cat person. She’s made an impact on so many of my friends, too. You’d think after everything she’s been through, she wouldn’t trust people. But she does. She’s taught me to do the same—to find the best in every situation, no matter how hard it gets."
